Summary of Position:

The supervisor manages catering requests and events. They help facilitate the goals of L & J Café and are responsible for the quality of catering service, while ensuring seamless delivery, set up and pick up to include overall catering functions as well as, preparation and maintenance of quality standards, sanitation and cleanliness, training of employees in methods of customer service, preparation, policies and procedures, cost control, and sanitation and cleanliness.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of L & J Café.

Monitor sanitation practices to ensure follow standards and regulations are met.

Coordinate with customer directly on details of events.

Follow up with customer after the event has transpired within 5 business days.

Responsible for maintaining appropriate cleaning schedules for catering equipment.

Responsible for maintaining inventory of catering equipment.

Responsible for maintain the catering vans clean and appropriate gas levels.

Register all catering events on the calendar with appropriate details.

Responsible for upkeep of linen.

Responsible for shed inventory and cleanliness / organization.

Research price comparison for competitive pricing.

Keep detailed report on all food donations and provide a receipt for each.

Work closely with the BOH kitchen managers to ensure food will be prepared, packaged and on time for delivery or pick up.

Schedule personnel as required for anticipated event activity.

Inspect supplies, equipment, or work areas to ensure conformance to established standards.

Work closely with the General Manager on all aspects of catering needs.

Keep management informed of all situational matters to include employees and customers

Check the quality of service and food being provided to the customer.

Oversee the continuous training of employees on service, equipment, cleanliness, sanitation practices, first-aid, CPR, proper lifting and carrying techniques, and handling hazardous materials.

Demonstrate new methods and techniques, process and procedures to staff.

Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurants preventative maintenance programs.

Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.

Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.

Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

Demonstrate full knowledge of the POS system

Must be able to coach subordinates and document improvement plans

Qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years in a catering, supervision or management position.

Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written.

Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and dining room personnel.

Flexible hours. Monday “ Sunday, morning and evenings required.

Management Food Handlers Certification or Servsafe Certification

Physical Requirements:

Be able to reach, bend, stoop

Be able to comfortably lift up to 50 pounds

Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)

Be able to work in inclement temperature

Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
