JOB SUMMARY

Vaco Technology is currently seeking a SQL Database Engineer / Developer w/ Azure for a 6M C2H opportunity located in Dallas, TX. The SQL Database Engineer / Developer will work within an enterprise environment coupled with a strong understanding of complex SQL design concepts and practices and procedures. The SQL Database Engineer / Developer will identify business requirements, develop data models, perform data analysis, write advanced SQL queries, design and develop complex stored procedures, and performance tuning existing database processes.

• Design / Develop Database Objects / Stored Procs / Views / Functions / Tables / Triggers / SSIS Packages - Ensuring Stability / Reliability / Performance


• Troubleshoot Escalated / Complex Issues - Recommend / Review the Implementation of Associated Fixes


• Design / Develop / Maintain SSRS Reports Based on User Requirements


• Write / Optimize SQL Statements for Data Access / Retention


• Test / Fine-Tune Database Performance


• Collaborate with Developers on Database Design / Query Tuning / Schema Refinement


• Analyze / Solve / Correct Database Related Issues in Real-Time / Provide Efficient Solutions


• Respond to User Feedback on Performance / Work with Developers to Improve the Performance of Queries / Indexes, etc.


• Analyze Technical Requirements Provided by the Product Team / Design Database to Fulfill Requirements


• Provide Support for the Deployment of Database Scripts in Development / Test / Pre-Production / Production Environments


• Ensure Environments are Suitable for Proposed Business Applications / Propose Scaling the Environment to Meet the Requirements, etc.


• Utilize Techniques to Minimize Operational Costs


• Ensure Operational Team is Actively Monitoring the Backup Environment / Maintains Compliance with Established SLAs

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• SQL Database Engineer / Developer - Enterprise-Level / Azure Cloud Environment / Database Design


• T-SQL / Stored Procedure (including Developing Complex Stored Procs) - Design / Implementation


• BI Development - SSRS (Design / Create / Develop Reports) / SSIS (Design / Develop SSIS Packages)


• Design / Develop Database Objects / Views / Functions / Tables / Triggers / SSIS Packages


• Troubleshoot / Resolve Database Integrity / Performance / Blocking / Deadlocking Issues, etc.


• Performance Tuning / Query Optimization / Performance Monitoring / SQL Profiler / Mirroring, etc.


• Azure Cloud - Data Warehouse / DataFactory / Permissions / Issue Resolution (utilizing Custom Azure Code)


• OnPrem Database Migration to IaaS / PaaS-Based SQL Databases

PREFERRED (but not required)

• Azure Cloud - DataBricks / DataBox / Synapse Analytics / SQL DW / Event Hubs / DataFactory / DataLake Storage


• BI Tool (familiarity) - PowerBI / Tableau, etc.
