As a Principal Software Engineer - DevSecOps, you will be a key member of the ISG Tech Ops organization as part of the DevOps Engineering group, who is passionate about open source, security, design, and automation. You will have an opportunity to work with a highly collaborative and fun team in a fast-learning environment.

What you'll achieve

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will bring a passion for security to an energetic group of DevOps Engineers and Developers to create and implement secure automation and deployment strategies across a compelling and heterogeneous set of systems and applications.

You will:

  • Contribute to the design and architecture of high-quality, complex systems and software/storage environments
  • Prepare, review and evaluate software/storage specifications for products and systems
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of test strategies for complex software products and systems/for storage products and systems
  • You will be empowered to collaborate with Security and Technology colleagues across the company, and to leverage emerging technologies and modern automation frameworks

Essential Requirements
  • Securely design, build, deploy, operate, and monitor mission-critical, highly available software systems at scale, using DevSecOps best practices. Modernize and secure existing systems and infrastructure with a focus on automating security and compliance while respecting stable operations
  • Create, assess, test and pragmatically apply security controls and processes, build threat models, and perform risk assessments. Respond to security incidents, assess threats, and implement remediations across systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams of Developers and DevOps engineers, and join the company's DevOps and Security communities to help champion secure solutions and culture
  • Good hands-on experience of programming in languages such as Python, Java, or similar object-oriented language. Skilled with automating technologies, deploying applications, and provisioning infrastructure
  • Experience with multiple programming languages, databases, operating systems, tools and hardware platforms. Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed application architecture, such as containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology.
  • Expertise with the full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices. Knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing and firewall. Strong presentation, verbal communication and written communications skills. Ability to lead effectively across organizations and engagements, preferably from a professional services organization or similar.

Desirable Requirements
  • 8+ years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 6+ years with a master's degree; or 3+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience
