The Boeing Company is seeking an Associate Simulation Software Engineerbased out of Berkeley, Missouri.

This position will be a developmental role on a team that develops simulation software that integrates with test assets (desktop and real hardware). This simulation supports many different platforms (F-15, F/A-18, T-7A, MQ-25, 737, 777X, and others). The successful candidate will coordinate with commercial, defense, and other customers for requirements. The candidate will participate in small developmental teams to implement those requirements. Agile methodologies such as sprint planning, scrums, retrospectives, and demonstrations are expected.

The candidate should enjoy working collaboratively with others, has a commitment to customer satisfaction and process improvement, and is successful working in a multi-program environment. They will support the development of solutions to a wide range of complex problems that require ingenuity and innovation. They should be adaptable to new development environments and eager to work with and learn new technologies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
  • Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
  • Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met
  • Supports software project management and software supplier management functions.
  • Selects, tailors and deploys processes and tools; establishes metrics
  • Performs software research and trade studies
  • Troubleshoots software issues
  • Works under general supervision


This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and does not require applicants to live in Berkeley, MO, USA.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Experience in software programming with C, C, C#, .NET coding, debug, and development


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience working across software-interface boundaries, including hardware, firmware, and software(Including technical coordination with interfacing teams)
  • Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Decision making abilities to complete efforts with minimal requirements definition
  • Experience in software development in Visual Studio
  • Experience with avionics and Ethernet communication protocols
  • Experience with Agile Methodology
  • Experience with Git, Continuous Integration, Cloud Computing technologies


Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
