The Assistant Vice President of Human Resources has the day-to-day system-wide responsibility and oversight for the Employee Relations, Recruitment, Benefits, and Occupational Health departments in accordance with the policies and practices of the Cook Children’s Health System. You will be responsible for strategic human resources planning to ensure the company is an Employer of Choice. You will also serve as a partner with the business to provide consultative support and counsel, as well as aligning the business needs and Human Resources strategies to support the business. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field required
Masters’ degree desirable but not required
A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible broad human resources experience, preferably in healthcare
Must have some experience in most, and be a resident expert in at least one, of the following areas: Employee Relations, Benefits, Recruitment and Occupational Health
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. A strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus
An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to and influence people at all levels including significant experience working with senior management on various HR issues
Must be a team leader and be able to assist with and lead major change efforts across the organization
SHRM or PHR certification preferred
