Job Description

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for maintaining accounts/financials according to standards, and ensuring availability of accounting information for management, such as P&L statements, general ledgers, and financial transactions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

These are the most significant job duties performed. The size, scope and complexity of assigned duties and responsibilities are dependent on the level and experience of the incumbent. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each assigned essential duty satisfactorily. Other responsibilities or special projects not specifically listed below may also be assigned.

Prepare monthly financial reporting package, including journal entries and review of balance sheet accounts, and variance analysis.

Review and approve Accounts Payable invoices and process customer credit memo requests.

Interface with corporate Treasury and handle all intercompany monies through BMG.

Interface with internal and external auditors, as well as corporate accounting and finance personnel.

Fixed asset management, including capital expenditure audits, monthly CIP tracking, capitalization, depreciation, reconciliations, and roll-forwards.

Vendor and Customer setup

Prepare monthly sales tax reporting.

Submit USMCA documentation and State sales tax audit data as needed.

Assist with physical inventory to ensure compliance with required accounting policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant accounting experience.
  • Must possess key leadership qualities, including flexibility, reliability, self-starter and effective team player and communicator.
  • A positive attitude focused on understanding, anticipating and responding to the needs of our customers, both internal and external to the department and company.
  • Strong analytical skills, detail oriented with an aptitude to work accurately and quickly.
  • Must possess negotiation, analytical, multitasking and organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong computer skills to include: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Superior time management skills, able to work independently and set priorities

Education and Work Experience

  • Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • CPA certification is a plus.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee must be able to do the following:

  • Perform activities including bending, stooping, standing, walking
  • Stand and walk from one (1) to six (6) hours per day
  • Climb up and down stairs four (4) to six (6) times per day
  • Operate common office equipment, i.e. PC, phone, copier, printer, fax
  • Work in climate-controlled office environment
  • Work occasionally in climate-controlled plant, specifically during physical inventory count
  • Travel infrequently by various means of transportation, including car, train, bus, plane
