Could you imagine yourself in a place like this?About YouAs aProcess Automation EngineeratDow,you will apply technical knowledge by providing automation solutions for the chemical process equipment involved, work process, unit operations, operating condition or process technology improvements.In this role, you will have daily interaction with the production facility to provide support for large improvement projects to increase plant capacity and overall safety. You will also support intermediate projects, or portions of the process automation design within larger capital projects.One key long-term project this role will be focused on is the migration of Dow's legacy control system to a commercial platform (MOD5 to ABB)Responsibilities / Duties:Applies Global Project Methodology (GPM) and Process Automation Work Process Discipline.

Ensures that the project scope is well defined and meets the business needs in a cost effective manner.

Ensures that the process automation is safe, meets DOW LPP’s and other EH&S requirements.

Drives project execution within their discipline.

Provides input to project schedule and plans, then monitors progress against the plans.

Ensures discipline design deliverables for their discipline meet the needs of the project: functions as intended, on time and within budget.

Identifies technical problems and appropriately engages the business technology center and SME network to resolve.

Programs control applications for various distributed control systems. Writes simulation applications in order to verify functionality of the control program and for training plant operators.

Participates in project commissioning and startup activities, including tuning of control loops.

Develops knowledge and skills in all aspects of Process Automation.

Obtains basic knowledge of unit operations and Chemical Engineering fundamentals.

Required Qualifications:A minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (e.g. process automation, engineering, manufacturing or related)

Must be willing and able to meet all applicable requirements related to business travel (<5% annually) (e.g., as to immigration and visa rules, public-health mandates, airline rules, etc.) into and out of (and physical presence in) various countries world wide

A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with commercial control systems (e.g. ABB)
