Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant product management experience working in information technology
Maintain understanding of product lifecycle
Experience working on solutions involving Supply Chain Management
Ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
Working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
Preferred - prior experience working in software development and/or programming
Responsibilities:
Responsible for gathering input from a variety of internal and external sources to define product concepts; responds to the needs of customers throughout the development process
Analyzing competitors and market trends
Evaluating new and existing technologies in the industry
Developing detailed requirements, feature definitions, implementation plans, and internal communications
Present and secure approval from senior management and other key stakeholders, as necessary. Create business case for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
Balance priorities across the Supply Chain portfolio to identify, recommend and prioritize key opportunities between the business units, communicating decisions and trade-offs. To this end, you will maintain a prioritized backlog for each community of product stakeholders.
Advise the business and provide suggestions for Supply Chain opportunities, based on detailed knowledge of existing data, business objectives and available technology
Maximize and manage P&L for product line and articulating the competitive marketplace by comparing with those of competitors. This covers value to customers from a feature vs. price perspective
Responsible for communicating product solutions and benefits to customers and stakeholders; including knowledge transfer and training for on-going management of features and successfully champion new initiatives to leadership team
Manage expectations (negotiating appropriately - right people and right time, where necessary) to ensure a common understanding of where, when, and how the business user stories can be prioritized optimally
Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed
Act as the product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
