Description This Senior Accountant role is well suited for an experienced Accountant with an aptitude for adaptability. We would love to hear from you as soon as possible about this immediate Senior Accountant opening! This long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity is based in the Galveston, Texas area.ResponsibilitiesDedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Complete other projects as required
Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
Achieve compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures and controls by working with business partners
Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Work with internal and external auditors to coordinate quarterly reviews and testing
Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP Requirements - SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Excellent attention to detail
Expertise in Sage Accounting Software
Microsoft Excel experience desired
Proficiency in Sage Intacct
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Highly organized and self-motivated
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Vow to meet business deadlines
Efficient in ERP systems
A strong track record of communicating, both verbally and in writing, with functional department managers
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate
