The position mechanical engineering experience developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured mechanical products. Responsibilities include:Reviews documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.Supports production site with reviews of quality data on yields, rework, scrap and non-conformance aging.Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to very complex.Attends and leads program corrective action meeting, identifies trends, assists in problem resolution and insures responsible parties meet commitments.Participates as an active member of Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards which includes dispositioning non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment requirements, identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.Performs assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and ISO-9001/AS9100.Evaluate the design assurance activities and implementation of production process methodology to prevent impacts to production velocity and quality.Interfaces with customers, suppliers and program personnel on quality related issues.Utilizes lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement.Makes the final decision on acceptability of product.A level 2 employee typically has 2 - 3 years of professional experience.Basic Qualifications:Ability to obtain a security clearanceTechnical Engineering degreeKnowledge and application of Geometric Dimensioning and TolerancesExperience reviewing quality standardsAbility to interpret drawings and specifications to develop and apply quality, test, and inspection methods and translate into work instructionsDemonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complexDemonstrated presentation skillsProficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.Ability to travelDesired Skills:SAP application experience / data mining experienceExperience with use of inspection gages and measuring equipmentExperience working with Government customersEffective communication skills: written, oral, listening, technical writingEffective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaborationKnowledge of Industry recognized Quality systems such as International (ISO), aerospace (AS), and FAA regulationsAS9100 interpretation and application experienceLean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certificationASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and / or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA)Experience with the following manufacturing and inspection processes such as:-Tooling-Mechanical assembly-Paint-Weld-Sheet metal-Machined partsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. The engineer will have the opportunity to apply research to the planning, design, development, and testing of new aerospace and related products. Job Description: Analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design, or operation of aerospace product to include structural analysis and dynamic analyses. Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling. Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis.
