Job Summary:
We are seeking dedicated and passionate teachers to join our team. As a STEAM After-school Instructor, you are responsible for successfully providing safe and high-quality education and child development services to all students enrolled in our Educational Programs. Our Teachers successfully implement strategies that include positive reinforcement, active supervision, and STEAM as a teaching approach within our company values.
Duties:
Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible.
Adapt teaching/building methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests. Always staying under the company guidelines.
Prepare materials for your class activities, this includes organizing LEGO® material before and after each class.
Establish clear objectives for every lesson and project, and communicate those objectives to students.
Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, investigate, and play.
Instruct and monitor students in the use and care of equipment and materials to prevent injuries and damage.
Attend professional meetings and teacher training workshops.
Select, store, order, issue, sanitize, and inventory classroom equipment, materials, and supplies at the end of the semester/summer camp week.
Required Skills:
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in the subject(s) being tutored
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
- Patience and empathy towards students of all levels
Nice-to-have:
- Teaching certification, CDA or relevant academic background
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Familiarity with after-school activities
