RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in the maritime space is looking for a Business Analyst in Houston, Texas (TX).
Summary:
The Business Analyst role is to analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of project stakeholders, be they customers or end users.
Responsibilities:
Business Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders and product team to support product and service development
Assists in conducting research on products to meet requirements and to support development and deployment efforts
Work with business users to perform cost-benefit and return on investment (ROI) analyses for product development to aid management in making implementation decisions
Conducts interviews to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods
Identifies and establishes scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics
As a Business Analyst, you will work with product owners and project team to prioritize collected requirements
Works with business users to perform cost-benefit and return on investment (ROI) analyses for proposed changes to aid management
Assists in conducting research on software and hardware products to meet agreed upon requirements and support purchasing efforts
Works with business to translate conceptual user requirements into user stories that is comprehensible to developers/project team
Creates process models, specifications, diagrams to provide direction to developers and product owners
Assists with the interpretation of user requirements into feasible options, and communicating these back to the business stakeholders
Works with product owners to manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent, from an accredited university, in Business Administration, Computer Science, Finance, or Information Systems or equivalent industry experience is preferred
Minimum of two (2) years of previous related experience
Previous JIRA experience; Knowledge of PLM Systems preferred
Develops functional testing requirements and test plans for product owners and business testers
Demonstrated knowledge of core business process and operations
Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development
Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language
Ability to apply statistical and other research methods into systems issues and products as required
Demonstrated project management skills and project management software skills, including planning, organizing, and managing resources
Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts
Excellent oral and written communication skills
