Essential duties and responsibilities include
  • Responsible for performing field surveys and developing reports.
  • Install, maintain, and repair components of a cathodic protection system.
  • Complying with Orbital Engineering and client policies and applicable local, state, and federal rules.
  • Ability to travel and work in an outdoor environment.
  • Detect possible faults in the systems and recommend or stipulate appropriate remedial measures.
  • Ability and desire to teach others about basic cathodic protection testing applications.
  • Knowledge of NACE standards and testing methods.
  • Accurately read and comprehend drawings.
  • Learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation which takes place mainly in an on-the-job training setting.
  • Use graphic instructions, such as blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts, or other visual aids.
  • Applies intensive and diversified knowledge in broad areas of assignments, especially projects concerned with unique or specialized problems.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Complete company-developed training modules.
  • Interfaces directly with the clients’ representatives as necessary.
  • Proficient with a computer and/or tablet use in office & field.
  • This position requires travel within the State of Texas as well as to other states as needed.
  • Employees may occasionally be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, cold, and extreme heat.
  • Noise levels are usually moderate.
  • Be available to support emergency jobs that will have less than 24-hour notice.

Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma (required)
  • NACE/CP1 or 2 certifications
  • Must pass a background check, drug screen, and fit for duty test.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Non-destructive Testing Experience.
  • Certified Welding Inspector.
  • American Petroleum Inspector 510, 570 or 653.
