Title: Communications Manager, CorporateLocation: USA-Texas-HoustonJob Overview:The Corporate Communications Manager is responsible for creating, managing and measuring internal and external communications as an integral part of the global communications team. This includes developing communications and messaging strategies, executing public and media relations programs, monitoring publicity, managing internal communications programs and content, formulating and implementing plans. Key interfaces of the group include senior management as well as technical groups and functional management.The successful candidate will be a versatile, self-driven, reliable team member and detailed-oriented project manager comfortable with internal and external communications in public company setting. Responsibilities include developing communications strategies and formulating and implementing plans based on these strategies.Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Manage and execute corporate public relations and communications strategy with appropriate metrics and goals to ensure that the program advances the company’s image and reputation, generates awareness for McDermott leadership, projects and services

Manage external communications strategy and execution; building and maintaining effective/cooperative working relationships with functional leadership; as well as writing and editing internal communications

Manages the approval processes for global announcements, including drafting press releases and securing all necessary approvals

Fosters media and influencer relationships, identifies and secures editorial opportunities that support the global communications plan

Monitor all media channels, measure and report company publicity and adjust media strategies accordingly

Plan, develop and manage internal communications channels including the company’s Intranet and other internal communications tactics to drive employee engagement, satisfaction and productivity

Identify and develop company news and information, develop content and/or output, such as, but not limited to:

Press releases

Announcements

Speeches

Presentations, technical articles, conference papers

Marketing collateral

Serve as the contact point for functional communications requests

Provide support to Area communications such as story identification, editing, proofing

Provide support for corporate activities such as, volunteer/charity/ community events, recruitment campaigns, internal messaging campaigns, etc.

Basic Qualifications:Minimum of 10 years of experience in public relations, media relations or communicationsDegree in Communications, Marketing or related field

Experience in oil & gas industry preferred

Experience working in a public relations firm preferred

Experience working for a public company preferred

The ideal candidate should have excellent written and oral communications skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Bachelor’s degree required in Communications or other related area; minimum of 10 years of experience

Proven ability to execute external and internal communications strategies that are aligned with business goals and objectives

Experience should include news writing, speechwriting, employee communications and prooing ability

Experience working in a publicly-traded company preferred
