Jacobs is NASA’s largest engineering solutions provider workingalongside NASA at centers across the United States.We have the unique and significant role to partner with NASA atJohnson Space Center (JSC), to be part of every human spaceflight program – theInternational Space Station (ISS), NASA’s Orion spacecraft, which will carryastronauts into deep space, and Gateway, the orbiting platform providing thehome for astronauts to work and travel back and forth to the moon’s surface,and serving as the platform for deep space exploration. From critical systems on the ISS to enableastronauts to live and work in space; to performing advanced development forsystems leading to deep space exploration; to being part of the foundation forGateway.We also partner with NASA at JSC, the only NASA center in theUnited States to curate all astromaterial samples returned from explorationmissions, to perform curation services, orbital debris analysis, and basicresearch to further humankind’s understanding of the origins of our solarsystem.We need you to be a part of our team!Thisis a temporary position not to exceed 6 months.We are currently in need of a IT Helpdesk Technician to join ourteam. Do you have the following skills?The IT Helpdesk Technician will:
Design,build and deploy computer and laptop images.
Deploydesktop application software.
Providetechnical assistance for deployment activities.
Design,build and deploy computer and laptop images.
Conducton-site technical support visits with clients for their hardware/software issues.
Troubleshoot,diagnose, and resolve incidents for desktop systems and applications.
Conductappropriate tests of any repaired device before re-deployment to clients.
Providesupport for employee processing activities (new hires, moves, terminations).
Provideprinter management, including monitoring, procuring and replacing toners.
Provideresource (mainly laptop) checkout support.
Providesupport for periodic inventories of IT resources.
Providesupport for ad hoc IT special projects.
Work withcustomers to ensure better understanding of new technologies and to providein-person and remote phone support to answer questions about devices andissues.
Performother duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequiredEducation/Experience/Skills:
Two (2)years of college, plus four (4) years of related experience. Additionalrelevant education may be substituted for a portion of the experience.
Requiresindependent analyses, communication and problem solving.
Performfunctions with little supervision and requires initiative and judgment.
Priorexperience providing in-person and remote phone technical support.
Ability toescalate issues which won’t be resolved within the service level agreement toother personnel.
Requiresability to work both independently and in a group environment.
Excellentwritten and oral communication skills.
Mustpossess working knowledge of IT Standards.
KnowledgeMicrosoft Windows 10 and above Operating System and MS Office 365 products andabove, with Outlook.
