At Houston Methodist, the Pharmacist Resident is responsible for participating in an organized, directed, postgraduate training program that centers on development of the knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed to pursue rational drug therapy for a generalized populations as well as specialized diseases populations. This position performs fundamental clinical pharmacy duties and facilitates safe, efficacious, and pharmacoeconomically rational use of medications in the population(s) served. This position supports the delivery of pharmacy managed protocols, formulary processes and medication reconciliation activities while providing education to fellow pharmacists, nursing, medical staffs, and others inside and outside the department. This position has additional pharmacy administrative, quality and research activities that are part of the training program requirements. A certificate of residency is granted to the Pharmacist Resident upon satisfactory completion of the residency program.

At Houston Methodist, the Lead Transporter position is responsible for transporting acute, intensive and critical care patients in a timely manner utilizing a wheelchair, transcart, stretcher or bed, and role-modeling appropriate communication, working closely with nursing staff and co-workers. In addition to performing the functions outlined in the Transporter position, the Lead Transporter position is distinguished by exercising a greater degree of independent judgment and analysis. This position serves as a role model to team members and supports the interprofessional team in delivering high quality patient care during transit, moving inpatients and outpatients to diagnostic testing and therapeutic areas, clinics, physician\'s offices, admissions and discharges throughout the complex. The Lead Transporter position serves as the liaison between management, staff and physicians for routine matters as the primary point of contact for resolving basic questions and issues, resulting in the delivery of exceptional patient care and adherence to standards of practice for optimal patient safety, quality outcomes, and customer service.

At Houston Methodist, the Transporter position is responsible for transporting acute, intensive and critical care patients in a timely manner by wheelchair, transcart, stretcher or bed. This position supports the interprofessional team in delivering high quality patient care during transit. The Transporter position moves inpatients and outpatients to diagnostic testing and therapeutic areas, clinics, physician\'s offices, admissions and discharges throughout the complex. This position will assist with preventing patient falls by retrieving the Hover Mat/Jack, lifting and moving the patient to a stretcher and transporting the patient back to his/her room. The Transporter position must be able to communicate appropriately and work closely with nursing staff and co-workers. This position delivers patient room furnishings such as bed extensions, sleep chairs, and transports empty beds, as requested, as a backup duty when others are not available.
