Remote Lead QA engineer


  • Must have 10+ years of IT experience last 6 years being focused on QA and have been a lead and mentor to other QA engineers

  • Provide application software automated testing services and technical support for commercial applications in support of core organizational and business processes.

  • Develops automated test scripts on new applications or updates existing automated testing procedures for enhancements in existing applications.

  • Analyze user requirements and acceptance criteria to develop recommended testing strategies, plans, and scripts. Assist in ensuring that system enhancements are successfully implemented. Provide day-to-day support and participate in on-call support.

  • Collaborate with vendors, business users, programmers, network administrators, systems analysts and database analysts in resolving problems with software products or systems.

  • Develop and utilize standard templates to for test plans, scripts and automated testing code.


Key challenges:


  • Managing multiple assignments through a myriad of changing business processes, regulatory requirements, availability of team members, shifts in priority, and requests for service.

  • Staying current on emerging or declining technology and security threats.


Experience:


  • UI Test automation experience (e.g. Selenium, Protractor, Watir)

  • Understanding of RESTful web services and microservice architecture

  • Hands-on experience with automation of APIs using Rest Assured or other API automation frameworks

  • Experience working with Cloud environments - preferably AWS

  • CI experience in Jenkins, CircleCI or similar toolsets.

  • Experience in all phases of the software and testing lifecycle, inception through deployment

  • Strong functional testing background, including defining test strategy, test planning, test case design, and execution

  • Project experience using an Agile methodology (e.g. Scrum)

  • Experience with test management tools (e.g. TestRail, Zephyr)
