Safety Relief EngineerJob Duties:Identify deficiencies in relief system facility installation (pressure relief valves and flare system) as required in the OSHA PSM (Process Safety Management) programs according to accepted industry codes and standards (e.g. ASME BPVC section VIII, and API standards) and Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practice (RAGAGEP). Perform calculations using process engineering simulation tools such as ASPEN, HYSYS and PRO/II of various refinery unit operations ranging from simple flash drums to complex distillation column to accurately determine adequacy of relief system facility. Prepare relief system documentation in relief system management software such as SALUS, PPM, iPRSM etc. Evaluate adequacy of flare systems using hydraulic solver software such as SPEN FlareNet, and SimSci Visual Flare. Provide cost efficient solution and mitigation options to existing design to meet government regulations.Education Required: Bacheloris degree in Chemical Engineering required.Experience Required: 6 mos. experience on job offered. In lieu of the required experience, applicants with any suitable combination of education, training or experience are acceptable, including 3 hrs. course work or comparable course work in each area of Chemical Engineering Transport Process, Chemical Reaction Engineering and Chemical Engineering Design with emphasis on health and safety.
