Job Title: Technical Writer

Duration: 12+ MONTHS

Location: Houston Texas- Hybrid- 1-2day/week

Job Summary:

The Technical Writer will create and revise technical documents such as technical documents based on NIST 800-53 and NIST Data Privacy framework.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Writes and edits technical security documents including, policy, procedure, standard, guidelines and product runbooks according to NIST standards Determines the type of publication that will best serve the project requirements.

Meets with engineers, programmers, and project managers to learn about specific technical processes at Client.

Researches process flow to fully understand for documentation purposes.

Assesses the audience needs for whom the technical and procedural documentation is intended; adjusts tone and technical terms used to meet those needs and to ensure understanding.

Plans writing processes and sets timelines and deadlines

Gathers feedback from technical teams and project management team\ to improve existing technical documents.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent writing and grammatical skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to present complex data in clear, concise text.

Ability to meet deadlines and to work independently.

Ability to edit and proofread work of colleagues.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Knowledge of NIST Frameworks

Technical background preferred

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in English, Technical Writing, or related field preferred Three years of related experience required.
