Responsibilities:
Relay all vital information via email, text or phone call to drivers which includes any customer reference numbers that must appear on paperwork, intake numbers, pro numbers as well as any special equipment or permits that might be needed for the load.
Assist customers and Drivers with any and all questions concerning the transportation of a load.
Perform any other duties and tasks directed by the TERMINAL MANAGER.
Prioritize, coordinate and schedule all customer orders.
Provide information to customers on service capabilities, rates, and equipment availability to build and grow relationships with key accounts.
Enter order information directly into computer system accurately and on a timely basis (immediate as received).
Interact closely with dispatch to receive information on shipment status.
Communicate with customers to provide information on shipment status, anticipated service failures, new pick-up and delivery times and alternative solutions where possible.
Update Container Availability, LFD and RFD in our computer system.
Respond to questions and requests as quickly as possible, making every effort to meet customer expectation.
Update customer location and contact information in computer system as quickly as changes are learned.
Performs other duties as requested.
Requirements:
Must have logistics dispatch experience
Must have knowledge of ports and rails in Houston
Must Pass Background Check.
High School diploma or equivalent
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bi lingual preferred not required
Punctuality, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Work well under pressure and stressful situations.
Intermediate skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook; Internet savvy.
