Leasing Agent Job Description
Our property management company has an immediate opening for the position of Leasing Agent. We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional Leasing Agent to assist us with marketing, leasing, and management of our apartment communities. The Leasing Agent will ensure properties are maintained effectively, market properties and screen prospective tenants. You will preserve favorable relations with property owners and tenants, contribute to a positive atmosphere in the office and portray a positive image of the company in your activities. You will oversee and coordinate the orientation of new tenants and assist with performing office management and clerical tasks. To be successful you need to balance the needs of property owners with those of tenants and achieve occupancy and rental goals. Top applicants are proficient multitaskers, organized and have strong people skills.
You will work closely with our community manager in Baytown, TX. This opportunity will allow you to work at two different apartment communities (32-unit and 44-unit property) on a rotating basis.
Leasing Agent Responsibilities
Advertising and marketing of available properties / units
Meet with prospective renters and take them on tours of the units that interest them
Completing lease applications and assisting with verification of application information
Screening prospective tenants to ensure they meet eligibility requirements
Informing prospective tenants of results
Prepare and execute leases in accordance with our property standards and regulations
Conduct credit checks and other background tasks to qualify potential renters
Establish rapport with tenants and provide personalized service
Collect application fees, security depots, and rent payments
Inform residents of any changes to the rental agreement or upcoming problems with the property
Liaising with tenants to provide information and address their complaints and concerns
Inspecting properties when tenants take occupation and vacate
Maintaining and storing documentation effectively
Recording and updating details of prospective and existing tenants into computer database
Coordinate property maintenance, including examining properties and informing maintenance staff of issues
Monitor use of community facilities
Leasing Agent Requirements
High school diploma / GED required (Associate degree preferred)
Prior experience as a Leasing Agent is a plus!
Excellent problem solving and communication skills
Spanish required
Ability to multitask during busy periods
Strong people skills
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
Experience with property management software (we use ResMan)
Proficient knowledge of real estate industry, property management principles, and relevant legislation
Valid drivers license and own reliable transport (insurance is a plus)
