Structural Steel / Welding Shop hiring a Full Time Estimator
Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year
Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed takeoffs, estimates, and proposals for structural and miscellaneous steel packages.
Lead the pre-construction process, including drawing reviews, bid strategy, and value-engineering opportunities.
Develop project schedules for detailing, approvals, fabrication, shipping, and erection.
Coordinate with fabrication shop supervisors to ensure efficient workflow, material availability, and quality control.
Perform procurement and buy-outs for steel, coatings, bolts, and subcontracted services.
Track project budgets, job costs, progress billings, and change orders.
Ensure compliance with AISC, AWS, and project-specific quality standards.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in structural steel fabrication, commercial construction, or related fields.
Background in estimating, project management, or pre-construction.
Ability to read and interpret architectural & structural drawings.
Knowledge of AISC/AWS standards and structural-steel materials.
Bilingual proficiency: Fluent in both English and Spanish, with strong spoken and written communication skills.
