We are seeking a Lifecycle Management & Serviceability Architect to define and drive SW architectures for the enablement and management of Edge Computing outside the data center for Dell's rapidly expanding Edge business.

What you'll achieve

The Dell Technologies Edge Portfolio team is developing a North Star architecture that enables Dell to win at the edge by providing a system that will manage Edge estates, orchestrate outcomes, and provide a vehicle for Dell to expand its offerings into multiple Edge vertical markets. Your role will be to drive the architecture and realization of HW Lifecycle Management and Serviceability features that securely and easily enable edge computing distributed across the edge, core data center, and cloud (Amazon, Azure, Google). This is a senior technical leadership role that requires you to collaborate and align the Edge strategy and innovation with other teams within Dell including our Telecom Systems Business for 5G/Private Wireless and our OCTO and CTIO office for SD-WAN, VPC, and Multi-Cloud connectivity.

As a member of the technical staff of our edge architecture team, you will be responsible for architecting and driving the realization of LCM and Serviceability features that can meet the unique constraints at the Edge.

You will:

  • Work with Product Management teams to refine the architecture and requirements
  • Work with Solutions Engineering teams to build and validate the architected solutions
  • Work with Engineering Development teams to build out a robust solution
  • Own the LCM and Serviceability Architecture for Dell's horizontal platform
  • Responsible for code reviews and resolving technical disputes

Essential Requirements
  • Requires 15+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 12+ years with a Master's degree; or 8+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience in a system architect capacity
  • Ability to drive results through collaboration across organizational boundaries in a large company
  • Proven ability to architect scalable, component based multi-tier or clustered architectures
  • Proven System Serviceability and LCM architecture and feature design, development, and delivery to market
  • Familiar with in band and out-of-band System Management (System Management Processors)
  • Familiar with Zero-Touch-Provisioning concepts and feature design
  • Familiar with Secure Over-The-Air Updates
  • Familiar with Remote Management techniques
  • C/C


Desirable Requirements
  • Working knowledge in core Dell Technologies hardware/software offerings and the ability to align/integrate/leverage/influence to meet requirements and delivery timeframes
  • Python, Go, Rust
  • Familiar with Secure Device Onboarding (Specifically FDO)
  • Familiar with Zero-Trust-Architectures
  • Ability to scale and mentor others
  • Ability to direct a global team of engineers and architects
  • Ability to influence internally and externally
  • A member of the Dell Technical Leadership Community
