Technical Staff, Software Engineering - KVM/ QEMU Development

What you'll achieve
As a Software Engineering Technical Staff Member, you will be a valued member of the ISG CTIO Future Growth Engines team exploring forward-looking technologies and architectures to be used in next generation data center products. We are seeking an individual with comprehensive product development experience including extensive Linux kernel and driver development experience. Excellent communications skills will be required to work effectively with technical leaders across the organization including CTO office members, advanced development engineering, product marketing, and solutions groups. The effort will explore innovations in next generation data center deployments including server and storage and the supporting infrastructure. This will be a hands-on role incubating new pathfinding and spawning proof-of-concept activities to develop architectural directions for future generations of data center infrastructures.

Candidate should have strong problem-solving and analytical skills with agility to adapt to technologies and processes quickly and ability to tackle projects that are loosely defined and be able to provide direction and structure that may evolve quickly based on learnings and new information. You Will:

• Design and lead next generation enhancements to KVM/QEMU for enhanced security and automation.
• Work with upstream Linux and OSS communities on cutting edge computing platforms
• Mentor team members in design collaboration, research and embedded environments
• Be a key and active member of an agile team, collaboratively leaving a mark on the engine of infrastructure growth

Essential Requirements

• 12+ years of development experience
• Agility to adapt to technologies and processes quickly
• Linux OS and C, rust, Python languages with an emphasis in developing device drivers or Linux Kernel level development
• Understanding of OS specific internals such as: IOMMU and x2APIC Programming, security, and design considerations
• Experience with cpu performance optimization.

Desirable Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related fields
• Experience with trap-and-emulate, para-virtualization, VT-x/VMX or interrupt capture
