IT Asset Management Specialist, you’ll hold overall strategical and tactical accountability for the program, ensuring that software and hardware assets and entitlements are maintained through their lifecycle in alignment with policies, procedures and processes of all IT services areas. In collaboration with IT leadership and functional and technical stakeholders, you’ll define tracking requirements and implement the necessary policies and procedures to ensure accurate asset tracking.


Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Lead the proactive asset monitoring and contract compliance functions
  • Manage IT asset lifecycle activities from requisition through disposal
  • Partner closely with Information Security and Service Management teams to ensure asset data is accurate, reliable, and well understood
  • Maintain the accuracy of foundational asset management repositories and lead the implementation of new tooling that enhances the reliability of the asset data
  • Conduct vendor audits across the software technology portfolio
  • Respond to IT and business customer queries concerning licensing and support
  • Facilitate discussions with IT engineering, support and external vendors
  • Proactively identify IT cost saving opportunities, working with internal stakeholders to optimize investments in existing and future IT assets
  • Maintain a good understanding of industry knowledge and trends
  • Educate and enforce Asset Management practices and policies
The incumbent will direct the work efforts of Internal and contracted resources developing and/or refining HAM Governance processes.
This includes the development and roll-out of Asset Governance processes which operational teams will use to ensure IT/OT assets are managed throughout the Asset Lifecycle (acquisition, maintenance and disposal).
The Manager will be expected to attain/retain multiple Asset Management certifications and remain up to date on Industry standards and trends, identifying opportunities to appropriately incorporate into the Asset Governance processes and framework
  • Must have excellent written and strong verbal/interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to conduct and interpret quantitative or qualitative analysis
  • Ability to translate contract licensing and support terms into technical requirements
  • Proven ability to assess a company's effective licensing position in order to help identify cost savings opportunities relating to software and maintenance
  • Displays working knowledge of SAM tools, IT asset discovery technologies, and data analysis techniques (using Excel, Access, and ACL)
  • Strong knowledge and use of Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word
  • Independent in work ethic and thought process, seeking supervision or direction as needed

Continuous improvement attitude able to seek out and implement leading ITAM practices.
