What you’ll be doing In this role, you'll be responsible for:
Executing/delivering each program within your sphere of responsibility, and ensuring all Verizon, VES, and PS practices and policies are followed or modified if appropriate.
Collaborating with stakeholders to define business/functional requirements and identify/resolve gaps.
Planning, governance, and oversight of the successful delivery of the portfolio/program’s output/product.
Relationship-building at the client’s CxO level, as well as executive-level circles within Verizon’s and the customer’s organization.
Providing high-level portfolio and program communication from a central venue.
Ensuring prompt problem and escalation resolution.
Ensuring the team communication in the form of formal briefings, project update meetings, and written, electronic, and graphic reports are effectively carried out.
Overseeing the development and maintenance of detailed project schedules, action item registers, and major milestone timelines for all assigned projects.
Ensuring Project Workbooks are created and maintained for each program and contract.
Overseeing and facilitating as applicable, sometimes leading project meetings.
Assisting project managers in the consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Conducting post-deployment reviews and providing feedback to business owners, product owners, and other stakeholders as part of best practices formulation.
What we’re looking for You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Ten or more years of project management experience.
Ten or more years of experience in change management or process improvement.
Seven or more years of experience in a consulting services organization.
Experience managing and setting expectations, managing escalations, and negotiating resolution.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Even better if you have:
Bachelor's degree or higher with a STEM focus (e.g., Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
Eight or more years of military service within the communications specialty.
Ten or more years of experience within network engineering or data communications.
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certifications.
The ability to work effectively with minimal guidance and direction.
Consulting experience.
The ability to independently manage and lead consulting engagements.
A desire for continual professional and technical skill growth.
The ability to mentor other consultants on PMP best practices.
The ability to interact with business leaders at all levels.
The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Advanced skill in financial management and budgeting.
Strong presentation, verbal, and written skills.
Working knowledge of Professional Services delivery methodology and the quality triggers that influence client satisfaction.
