The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is a qualified professional under the supervision of a qualified Vital Health Care Group Physical Therapist who performs services planned, delegated and supervised by the Physical Therapist. The PTA assists in preparing clinical notes and progress reports and participates in educating the patient and family and providing inservice programs.Provides services that are ordered by the physician as indicated in the plan of care, as developed, delegated and supervised by the Physical Therapist. Completes appropriate documentation in a timely manner.
Administers non-complex active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, traction, heat, light, cold, water and electrical modalities to patients.
Applies concepts of infection control and standard precautions in performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.
Accepts clinical assignments that are consistent with education and competence to care for patients.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of physical therapy assistant with an Associate Degree in Physical.Licensure: Current State License or a multi-state license issued by a state member of the Physical Therapist Licensure Compact (PTLC), if practicing in a state member of the PTLC, to practice Physical Therapy, or if licensure does not apply, meets one of the requirements listed in 42 CFR §484.115(I).Experience: One year experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant, preferred.Skills: Therapy skills as set forth in the Therapy Practice Act and other regulatory agencies.Good interpersonal skills. Proof of current CPR.
