Coordinate and supervise student assistants.
Proof and approve time sheets of student assistants.
Preform prelimenary data anaysis.
Work with farm managers of multiple test sites to plan research activities.
Harvesting yield trials and other breeding materials and shelling the corn; preparing and packaging seeds for field trials an breeding nursery and maintain seed inventory.
Pollination and harvest nursery. Manage field plots. Apply herbicides, fertilizers and irrigation water according to research protocols.
Collecting data and samples from field and greenhouse experiments, enter data into computer.
Planting field plots and perform special assignments
Maintain, operate and service research equipment
Other job related duties as required
Operate agency vehicles to perform agency duties of taking care of business with Texas Tech, USDA and any other agencies or organizations that we work with. Assist in delivery and pick-up of vehicles needing repair. Able to drive to and from field to work, deliver supplies, equipment, and/or other workers. Ability to drive to emergency services if anyone on team is in need of medical attention. Occasional trips to other Research Center locations for businesses as needed such as Halfway, Lamesa AG CARES, and Pecos.

Education and Experience:-High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.-Three years of related experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:-Ability to use standard office equipment . Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Working knowledge of general office procedures, computers and equipment. Ability to establish effective working relationships and ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Ability to work outside standard office hours. Ability to multi-task.All positions are security-sensitive.
