SUMMARY: Analyzes training needs, develops and administers training plans and procedures, prepares training materials, and conducts or supervises special courses to ensure appropriate levels of training for personnel. Groups trained include drivers, office workers, maintenance personnel, and supervisors.

Major Duties:

Assists in the strategic planning necessary to improve BASIC scores (to be at 50% or less).

Be aware of pending and upcoming changes to Federal & State Trucking Regulations to ensure our training programs are prepared for future compliance requirements.

Assists in leading the Training Department to develop innovative, impact and meaningful safety training programs.

Determines and analyzes Safety and Regulatory training needs of specific segments of organization personnel such as drivers, office workers, maintenance personnel, and supervisors.

Assists in the formulation of plans, procedures, and programs to meet specific training needs and problems.

Develops and compiles training materials and other training aids, and obtains equipment, training films, and other visual aids.

Develops and directs the administering of employee testing programs.

Maintains contact with other organizations, training organizations, and associations for the purpose of keeping abreast of new training developments and courses.

Assists coworkers as needed with other safety and risk management functions

Performs other related duties as needed by management.

Specifications:

Experience: 3-5 years in transportation industry safety & training

Education: CDL preferred, but not required

Special Skills: Proactive, self-guided leader with critical thinking skills; the ability to work independently in leading others in busy work environment; Must have excellent communication and leadership skills
