Commercial Metals Company is currently seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to support CMC Recycling in Lufkin, Texas. As part of the CMC team, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for continuous monitoring of all installed equipment and systems for proper operation, able to troubleshoot and identify equipment/system issue's and implement safely predictive/preventive/corrective measures to ensure asset reliability. Interpret blueprints/schematics drawings, use hand/ power tools or special tools in support of maintaining machinery, equipment, and systems. With an uncontrolled climate this position's working conditions include exposure to heat and cold. This is an hourly position with a work schedule of Monday-Friday 7:30AM “ 4:30PM, some Saturdays and overtime can be expected to accommodate business needs. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: List the essential functions, duties and responsibilities of this position, in order of importance. Must comply with safety procedures and regulations at all times

Possess specific fundamental knowledge of bearings, power transmission equipment, hydraulics/pneumatics, lubrication, fluid pumping systems, heat transfer, welding principles, rigging, overhead cranes and mobile equipment operation in support of all facility issues

Effectively monitors/inspects equipment for defects. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools

Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, and other measuring instruments

Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges

Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

Informs production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques, and monitors compliance.

Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment

Constantly perform a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, reaching, bending over, climbing, and kneeling

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Other duties as assigned to support business operations

Experience and Skills Requirements: List knowledge, experiences and skills that the person will need to apply to perform or be successful on the job.

Required

A minimum of three (3) years of in-trade industrial heavy equipment maintenance experience

Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and business leaders

Great organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task

Basic math skills

Experience with welding, cutting, fabrication and equipment maintenance

Ability to deal with uncertainty and work with or without supervision

Preferred

Basic electrical knowledge

Experience with SAP software “ highly desirable

Education Requirements: List required and desired education levels

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience preferred.
