The HT Group is currently hiring for Machine Operators for our client in San Marcos, TX. This is a temp-to-hire, full time role that offers an alternating schedule. Position: Machine Operator - Extruder Pay: $13.50 p/h Location: San Marcos, TXSchedule: M,Th,F 6:00 AM-6:00 PM first week, then T,W,Sa,Su 6:00AM - 6:00 PM the second week. This schedule alternates each week. Responsibilities of the Machine Operator:Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production orderControl and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)Feed raw material or parts to manual or semi-automated machinesInspect parts with precision measuring toolsTest operation of machines periodicallyFix and/or report issues that might occur during the shiftVerify output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flawsKeep records of approved and defective units and/or final productsMaintain daily logs/recordsCooperate with co-workers to achieve tasksMaintain and clean work environmentFollow all safety rules, assure others follow safety rules and correct or report any safety issues immediatelyAttend daily "passdown" meetingsRequirements of the Machine Operator:Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)Understanding of production procedures, manufacturing specifications, etc.Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)Analytical skillsAttention to detailTeamwork and communication skillsPhysical stamina and strengthAbility to think and act quickly for problem solvingBasic computer skills for e-mail, record keeping and to access job related work instructionsAbility to lift up to 40 poundsBasic computer skills
