Description:This person will be working as a Systems Engineer on site in a distribution center. They have recently installed a new robotic automated conveyor system, it is still in testing but about to be commissioned and now need to ensure that the system is fully operational and resolve issues as they arise. A typical day for this person will be a "light stacks chaser" - meaning they will review the status of the equipment (example red means there is an issue and they need to troubleshoot), review any escalations from the night before, review change requests, they will be troubleshooting on the floor, troubleshoot with mobile robots, networking activity, mapping drives, if there is a loss of access to the drives, investigate it. If there is an issue that they cannot fix, drive escalation to the larger team for support. This person will be working with the PLCs - look at the code and determine the issue with the ladder logic. They will be working within SQL - they will be writing and editing scripts. There is a lot of code that they will be working within, so need to be able to interpret and understand what it means to determine what the issues are. They will work in python and create shell scripts. This client has their own proprietary warehouse management system, they will work within that heavily. Initially, it will be more electrical/hardware focused - as the system is getting stood up and bugs will be found. Eventually, it will be 25% software and 75% electrical/hardware interaction with the software (either with PLC's or the warehouse management system, depending on the situation).Skills:Engineering, sql, python, automation, scripting, plcs, plc programming, troubleshooting, electrical system, ladder logic, robotics, bash, bash scripting, multimeter, bilingual, controls engineerAdditional Skills & Qualifications:-Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Robotics, or Mechatronics-Experience with bash scripting and bash commands would be a huge plus (if they don't know already, they are willing to train)-Experience with robotics (abb or fanuc) is a plus -Hands on Electrical experience (working with a multimeter) is a plus-Any background in conveyor systems, warehouse environments, is a plus-If they are bilingual (either Spanish or French) would be a plusExperience Level:IntermediateAbout Actalent: Actalent connects passion with purpose.
