Boeing Global Services (BGS) engineering has an exciting opportunity and is seeking an experienced, motivated, and self-starter candidate; Project Engineer (Level 4) to support a multi-disciplined engineering team. This position reports to the BGS practices and processes leader.

The candidate will be involved in the development and sustainment of processes pertaining to design practices across the BGS engineering value stream. This includes creating a suite of standardized and optimized processes that affect the engineering function. In this position, the individual will be collaborating with technical working groups, program SMEs and functional partners across the BGS division to execute engineering design practices and process deliverables and goals. Frequent interaction with senior technical teammates and engineering leadership - to resolve team "big rocks". This position includes acting as the prime technical focal for applicable project execution and initiatives within the team.

Position Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities may include (these include day-to-day activities and projects) :

  • Supports BGS Practices and Processes leader on engineering initiatives.
  • Support finance and budgeting request for BGS related activities in collaboration with practices and processes leader.
  • Develops statements of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, for ongoing and new business requirements within the BGS core engineering people, processes, practices, and tools organization. Collaborates with leadership to facilitate performance monitoring for projects and initiatives.
  • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of the project or team plan.
  • Understanding of program standards, policies and procedure.
  • Guides the implementation of BGS core engineering activities related to design practices, and other key working groups (initiatives and deliverables). Lead key technical activities that are focused on standardization of processes/actions to drive resolution of repeat/recurrent issues.
  • Ability to negotiate proposed changes for technical matter related to design practices and processes on behalf of the engineering processes and practices leadership.
  • Support BGS engineering functional and business unit related activities.
  • Lead and participate in business unit related workshops that develop process improvements and strategies for process or practice related activities. Provides lessons learned.
  • Ability to execute and collaborate cross functionally with teams such as technical boards to ensure appropriate visibility of key process initiatives.
  • Creates reports and presentations for leadership.
  • The ability to create formal documentation, and adequate performance metrics.
  • Works under minimal direction, consults with leadership on organizational decisions.


This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes , lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 9+ years of experience within an engineering discipline such as (industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering, systems engineering, quality engineering or other engineering disciplines)
  • 8+ years project management experience.
  • 8+ years of experience working with cross-functional or cross-organizational teams to develop and implement plans, schedules, or solutions.
  • Demonstrates technical responsibilities in a project and/or team.


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Currently have a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or higher
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and managing processes and metrics
  • 5+ years of program and/or engineering platform facing experience.
  • Experience with RIOs, RCCA, and Lean


Typical Education:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Hybrid/Telecommute:

This Hybrid position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
