Job Summary

Our First American Mortgage Solutions Product Manager will develop and launch the next generation of products by identifying potential products; conducting market research, generating product requirements; determining specifications, production timetables, pricing and time integrated plans for product introduction and marketing strategies.

Essential Functions/Requirements

  • 5+ years experience as a Product Owner/Manager or a similar role
  • Experience in product management, software product lifecycle, road-mapping, and agile methodologies
  • Experience working in an Agile environment: Scrum and Kanban
  • Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information, gaining an understanding of the customer
  • Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product changes
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements
  • Drive the ongoing advancement and planning of the 12+ month product roadmap by working with Sales, Marketing, Development & individual clients to understand future needs and opportunities
  • Execute the product roadmap by providing direction to the product development team for product evolution and priorities, ensuring that the experience gained from external market activities, usage analysis, competitive response, and market research is reflected in future product releases
  • Define high level customer requirements for the entire customer experience including product features and functions, target markets, and pricing
  • May develop and support alliances with key systems and content providers, integrators, e-commerce service providers and leading high technology companies to facilitate whole product solutions
  • Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products


Knowledge and Skills/Technology Used
  • Excellent spoken and written communication as well as receptive listening skills, with ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience in product development, requirements analysis, pricing, planning, competitive analysis, and financial planning and strategy
  • Demonstrated experience in gathering and transforming customer needs into an actionable product vision and requirements definition
  • Strong leadership presence with excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with stakeholders and senior management
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Sound decision making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to build relationships and ensure cooperation across First American product companies
  • Solid administrative skills; management skills
  • Project management skills
  • High level of business acumen, strategic agility, ability to develop others, influence outcomes and change and negotiate for resources
  • Successful track record designing, developing, and executing complex projects in area of functional expertise
  • Drives and models customer loyalty, manages customer expectations, solicits customer feedback and ensures commitments are met

Typical Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
