SCHEDULE: PRN/Per Diem

Summary:

Under the guidance of the Team Leader, and/or Supervisor of Respiratory Care, the RCS/Student will serve as a member of the healthcare team by providing assistance with caring for the appropriate patient population. Provide limited respiratory care, such as electrocardiograms, and, non-invasive therapy, as ordered by physicians, according to established standards and practices. Perform a variety of duties relative to cleaning, disinfecting, and storing respiratory therapy equipment and restocking of supplies.

Medical City North Hills is licensed for 164 beds, has over 300 physicians and 30 medical specialties. The ER has about 39,000 visits each year and is a Level III Trauma Center. Additionally, we are a Primary Stroke Center, perform spine surgery and joint replacements and have a comprehensive cardiovascular services department. Our hospital is an accredited Cycle 5 Chest Pain Center with a cardiac rehabilitation program.

Qualifications

Licenses/Certificates: Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license by the State of Texas. Certified Respiratory Therapist from the National Board of Respiratory Care. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BCLS or obtain within one week of hire. ACLS within 90 days of hire. PALS within six months of hire.

Minimum requirements:

Education: Certified in Respiratory Therapy

Experience: Six months in acute care is preferred.
