Drillers will move, set up, and operate drill rigs which consist of cab and non-cab models, and all related equipment for blast hole drilling. Work is outdoors in all weather conditions. The work is generally physically demanding and fast paced. Applicants must be safety conscious at all times. There is a mandatory 8 hour Saturday miner refresher training session once per year in the month of March, date to be announced, all employees must attend and be required to plan around the date when set, there will not be a makeup class offered.
Job Functions are as follows, but not limited to:
A driller must be able to operate equipment, drive a vehicle, rake holes, make light repairs on equipment as necessary (or assist mechanics), and or run for parts. Drillers will be required to work at least a 10-12 hour shift per day. Applicant will be required to prepare daily reports and forms in regard to daily drilling activities, pre and post shift inspections, and get all documents turned into the specified location in a timely fashion as required by the office.
Applicants must pass a pre-employment physical, and any other required back ground checks, have and excellent driving record within company standards, and a valid driver's license (Applicant to provide DMV record dated within 1 week of application received in the office)
Currently all work is in the west Texas area and often requires some out of town travel. Employees will work day and night shifts as needed to satisfy customer requirements. When traveling, Employees are housed in shared apartment/and or room situations, and if crews are in hotels at remote locations, these are booked with employees in shared rooms.This is a local hire job, based in Midland/Odessa, travel for this position will be required on an as needed basis.
Good listening, verbal communication, basic math skills, and the willingness to work together with others, and be able to professionally deal with sometimes challenging outdoor conditions while maintaining a safe work environment is an absolute must.
Employees must be flexible and able to make decisions that are in the company's best interest.
All employees are required to have a basic set of tools, and it is each employee's responsibility to maintain and keep track of his tools. Employees are also, at times, required to purchase special clothing for some of the oil field work, i.e.: long sleeved shirts, or flame retardant gear. Daily clothing requirements are steel toe boots, hard hats, and fluorescent safety vest.
Safety glasses, hearing protection, and dust masks will be provided from the office.
Employees are required to keep a cell phone active which will be able to receive and send text messages to the office, as well as send and receive photos of documents as necessary. Each employee is paid a phone allowance to cover the costs of the phone usage. The office is not in the location of the work being done, and it is imperative to be able to reach each employee for their daily paperwork.
On occasion it will be necessary to fly crew by small aircraft from location to location, if this becomes part of the job requirement, the employee will be expected to fly during these times.

There is a 90 day probation period for all hired employees. After the probation period, there is healthcare available as well as some paid holidays, After 1 year of continuous employment paid vacation and sick time are paid per written policies.
