Mechanical Tech “ Odessa TX

Pay Rate: 21hr

initial 3 months contract, to be extended or go perm

Shifts are 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM Schedule is 6 days a week with some Sunday depending on forecast

Job Requirements

With supervision, this position is responsible for assembling mechanical equipment or manufactured equipment to specifications on equipment drawings.

May assist more senior employees some of the time.

Operates stationary and moving overhead cranes, forklifts, and any equipment needed to perform job within safety guidelines.

Reads and interprets assembly blueprints and schematics and plans assembly or building operations.

Follows Standards, Procedures and Work Instructions to produce product of acceptable Quality.

Sets and verifies parts clearances.

Verify material per bill of material.

Perform assemblies, based on assembly drawings and bill of materials, capable of following written assembly instructions, maintain their work areas clean and free of debris.

Should be able to operate pallet jacks, cranes and forklifts; should be able to operate power tools, and large hand tools.

Able to record serial number of assemblies for traceability purposes.

Aligns components, bolts, screws, or rivets them together.

Bends and installs pipe for hydraulic systems.

Techs need ability to read all schematics, and use those schematics to build all required assemblies with minimal supervision.

Technicians may be required to test or assist in testing operation of completed products.

Maintain customer satisfaction and continual improvements of our products; mechanical technicians have to participate in all tool box safety meetings that are conducted.

An assembler should know how to properly read a tape measure, and have experience with various power tools, such as drill motors.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required and 0 to 2 years relevant experience.

One year tube bending experience.

Must have experience with the proper use of hand tools, and be familiar with safe operation with those tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to drive a forklift and/or crane is preferred but is not mandatory.

Candidates must have strong mechanical background.

Temp-to-hire based on performance.

Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed

Job Summary

Maintain shop, service tools, and rental equipment in a clean and organized manner.

Ensure service tools and rental equipment are maintained in accordance with company standards.

Pull and stage any new inventory needed to accompany the service technician to complete service job.

Forklift and overhead crane use to transport equipment.

Use media blast and pressure washer to clean incoming tools for repair or redress.

Use of hand tools such as grinder, stencils, chisels, hammers, wrenches, and others.

Transport of equipment to and from local vendors and company facilities. Flowback experience a plus.

Performs other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

Valve repair consist of disassemble, clean and inspect, assemble, troubleshoot, test, and shipping.

Operating forklifts, torque wrenches, pneumatic tools, electric hand tools, painting, pull wrenches, banding, pressure washer.

Assembly/disassembly of Christmas trees and wellhead equipment, Frac tree assembly/disassembly

Reading shop routers and following detailed router instructions.

High School diploma or GED.

1 - 3 years experience performing maintenance on oilfield equipment (valves) and following maintenance and safety procedures preferred

Basic computer skills
