Assistant Terminal Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Terminal Manager assists the terminal with direct proactively managing the day-to-day operations: property, housing, maintenance, billing reconciliation, driver availability, understanding of area work flow, driver production, and working with corporate office departments: Payroll, Billing, HR, Compliance, Central Dispatch Team, Maintenance, Safety, ect. The ATM will also make site visits to well locations, assist with customer and vendor relations, driver and site supervisor development in coaching, counselling, and discipline, ect. and removing roadblocks allowing drivers and site supervisors to be successful. Assist with implementation of good sound process management for time management and look for delegation and employee empowerment to accomplish tasks.
SUMMARY of ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The ATM should strive to be self-sufficient yet reach out and work with his/her support team as needed and bring about a sense of urgency in all areas of the operation. Ensure company resources (drivers, site supervisors, and equipment) are properly allocated to meet customer demand requirements.
Work with Central Dispatch and TM to coordinate the scheduling of drivers to meet customer delivery times, using solid daily load plans.
Assist manager with plan for and forecast the number of drivers required to achieve customer demands. Ensure location meets its loads/driver/day target.
Assist manager with daily contact with customers to deal with their questions/concerns/requests. Also, promote VPROP as a solutions provider to increase customer revenue.
Maintain continuous communication with Field Operation Manager and Logistics Manager and report as required.
Act as a secondary referral point for employees when questions concerning payroll, paperwork, missing information, company policies, etc. occurs.
Assist manager with oversees the maintenance of on-site property & equipment.
Assist manager with promoting company policies &procedures with all company employees, particularly related to safety.
Assist manager with monitor and report customer detention, sand logs and location SOPS to ensure customer requirements are met.
Deal with employee questions/concerns.
Assist manager with ensure continuous improvements and cost reductions.
Assist manager with ensure location achieves its safety goals.
