FTE’s will be required to travel to remote locations to service the client (Client is providing a company car, in which End client/ Client will be adding the Technician to the Insurance so that they are insured drivers)
Job Description
Network Hands & Feet Support Technician. The primary responsibility for this position is to maximize the availability of all network components. The technician is the point of contact for providing first and second level troubleshooting for all network equipment. The technician will be responsible for Service Level Agreements (SLA) and work within them to see that there is a prompt response to the issues.
The activities for this position include:
Patching cable installation and recovery
Installing power leads
Installing, removing or swapping equipment
Locating and or identifying network circuits and tagging the demark location
Providing escort services for Third Party Vendors in the facility
Adhering to the risk management processes, including conducting walkthroughs, work permits, change management, attending safety training; and reporting Incidents
Comply with the Company's audit requirements, Information Protection requirements, security requirements and standards detailing physical access management, and standards for Operational Excellence
Support and assist in the troubleshooting and testing network equipment and components, including:
Restarting equipment; troubleshooting and patching power cables; troubleshooting and patching Fiber and Copper cables, identifying a switch port location; pinging key Devices and performing DNS lookups, troubleshooting, installing, and where necessary removing equipment and/or components, perform visual checks for hardware failure lights or console error messages, power status and hardware labels and assisting with the identification and reporting of communications room environmental issues.
Perform MACD (move, add, change, delete) activities for end user business LAN and voice devices
Maintain the Inventory of the Network Devices
Update and Manage the DCIM tool
Adhere to Company’s Change Management Process, BCP and DR Plans
Monitor and respond to emergency conditions effecting operations to the extent that services can be safely provided (e.g hurricanes, earthquakes, etc.)
Provide smart hands support for other telecommunications infrastructure such as:
Coordinate with cabling contractor, WiFi and BLE systems, microwave systems installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, radio systems (HF, VHF, UHF, 2-way, radar, …) installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, VSAT installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, cellular-based systems such as public and private 4G LTE, 5G, NB-IIoT, LTE-M, lpWAN (low-power WAN) systems such as LoRaWAN, Other IIoT/OT systems, solar panel / battery power systems installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, specialty Telecoms systems such as CCTV, PAGA, Intercom, Fire/Intruder Alarm, systems installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
Daily/Monthly/Quarterly reports generation and Review with client
Required Skills A+, Vehicle, Ability to travel (will require travel within a 90 mile radius of Pecos, TX) FTE’s will be required to travel to remote locations to service the client (Client is providing a company car, in which End client/ Client will be adding the Technician to the Insurance so that they are insured drivers)
Strong Verbal and Written communication skills Ability to walk around a good deal of time, and lift heavy devices Willingness to work in shifts, attend on calls and weekend work as per schedule
Required Education Educational Qualifications and experience:
Have an associate or bachelor's degree (not a must)
Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP will be ideal (not a must)
Technicians should be conversant with compliance regulations, such as SOX
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in IT industry
Experienced in racking, stacking, cabling, and decommissioning of Network Hardware devices
Experienced in Smart Hand Support for Network device maintenance
Required Years of Experience 3-5
Engagement Terms:
Location: Pecos, TX
Rate: $20-26/hr
Initial phone screening with me; secondary interview with customer management (probably remote/video)
Openings: 4
Contract to hire
Duration: 12 months
Shift/Schedule: Generally M-F 8-5 plus overtime
Business Travel Required: Yes
Business Expenses Allowed: Mileage
Indicate background screen level: 7-year
Must have active driver's license and Proof of Covid vaccination
Ability to travel (Position will require travel within a 90 mile radius of Pecos, TX and the customer will provide a vehicle for travel.

Tech has to be fully vaccinated with booster shot and must be able to provide their own reliable transportation.

Must have A “Valid” Driver License, Valid Passport, or Birth Certificate.
Should be willing to submit to an extensive background, criminal history, and drug test before starting the project.
