Boeing is seeking a Senior Systems Integration Architect (level 5) to support our Metrology & Test Equipment Services (MATES) team in Seattle, Washington, in a virtual capacity.

MATES is comprised of engineers, technicians, software developers, data scientists, analysts, and project managers who support programs, sites, business units and external/government customers by providing best value test asset management and metrology services through all phases of the product lifecycle. Services include: calibration/certification for nearly 600,000 dimensional/optics, electrical/electronic and mechanical/physical measurement and test assets, sourcing management, measurement solutions, repair & maintenance, test asset selection and use, acquisition, allocation, resource and lifecycle management, and specialized test services.

The successful candidate will join a geographically dispersed and multidisciplinary infrastructure team that is responsible for developing and supporting all websites, metrics, analytics, software tools, and databases used to manage the business.

The ideal candidate will architect the overall systems design and integrate them with those from other organizations. Additionally, this candidate will combine programming, SQL skills, best practices, and business expertise to deliver efficient and scalable solutions to improve productivity across the enterprise. This role requires coordination with people in various time zones across the US and India for all Boeing business units, including BCA, BDS, and ET&T primarily.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provides consultation and leadership to identify, evaluate, and document complex computing system requirements
  • Applies expertise related to the architecture, design, build and test delivery systems and components
  • Provides technical leadership to evaluate product usability, affordability, functionality, security and performance to assess suitability for integration into delivery system environments
  • Provides technical support and consultation for the implementation and usage of complex delivery systems
  • Develops schemas and data models for new/existing systems
  • Establishes data structure for API's and ingestion templates
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop systems roadmaps
  • Creates mockups, proofs of concept, and prototypes for user interfaces
  • Maintains existing Infrastructure applications
  • Enforces security by using standard company tools such as WSSO, AD security groups, and standard architecture practices
  • Performs gaps analyses between requirements and developmental products
  • Coordinates with DBA's and general administrators for data integrity issues
  • Works with the development and DBA teams to write, approve, and submit DBA tickets
  • Verifies IT objects for CalData and CMIS in coordination with designated admin teams
  • Troubleshoots systems failures
  • Facilitates cross-training and encouraging adoption technical Best Practices
  • Mentors team members with performance and efficiency tips for queries, data validation, and database jobs
  • Provides training and consultation for all subjects of equipment reliability and calibration data functions
  • Works with business partners to develop change requests and determine the appropriate change board
  • Participates as an expert on change boards to achieve the most efficient solutions
  • Leads cross-functional development teams
  • Identifies opportunities to improve existing software and database solutions for cost, efficiency, and interoperability
  • Takes full ownership of large projects to guide the team in focus and finish efforts.
  • Possesses the ability to navigate between deep technical discussions up through high level theory and planning with ease, and to distill the technical jargon into simple terms


This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and does not require applicants to live in Seattle, Washington.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years of experience using Oracle/SQL for application interactions with databases
  • 5+ years of experience with static (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Visual Studio) and dynamic (C#, SQL, ASP.NET) web development
  • 5+ years of experience developing web-based applications (architecting advanced solutions)


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years experience with systems integration
  • 5+ years experience working with customers / end users to gather and document system requirements
  • 5+ years experience developing software solutions to achieve greater automation and efficiency
  • Working experience with Agile methodology (and Git/ADO)
  • Experience building ETLs that transform structured data sets, into actionable data models
  • Intermediate experience in data analytics and/or business intelligence


Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience, 18 years' related work experience, etc.)

Summary pay range: $107,100 - $198,900
