Laboratory Techs are needed in Southern Texas A Laboratory start-up company partnered with a State University and are working diligently to increase Covid-19 testing capabilities nationwide.

The Laboratory start-upis in the midst of a rapid national expansion of its FDA Approved Covid-19 innovative testing modality. The university-founded company provides its partners with a powerful tool to quickly impact their organization and community in the battle to slow the spread of the Corona Virus. The companies patented test is being rapidly deployed at universities and businesses across the country, allowing students and employees to return to campus and work.

Laboratory Technologistwill be responsible for collecting, receiving, and processing specimens. The right Lab Tech will have a strict adherence to procedures and best practices to meet quality and volume operational requirements. This critical position will play an integral role beside the Laboratory Supervisor in the safe and rapid startup of the labs, validation testing, processing patient samples, staffing, training new associates, and implementing a robust quality management system.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or chemical, physical, or biological science to qualify the individual as Testing Personnel under the CLIA 88 regulations OR Associate degree in medical laboratory technology and two years clinical laboratory experience in molecular genetic techniques.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated wet lab experience in molecular techniques
  • Knowledgeable in handling patient specimens from accession to storage, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Detail-oriented. Demonstrate strong attention to detail to eliminate the error.
  • CLS or MLT certified through the National Certification Agency or MB(ASCP) certified in clinical laboratory science, medical technology or chemical, physical, or biological science and 1-year training and experience in high-complexity testing;

Living in this part of Texas, the Laboratory Supervisor will have access to museums, zoos, theatres, various shopping centers, hisotrical tours, concert pavilions, hiking trails, beautiful parks, and a diverse variety of restaurants. This southern Texas city is full of adventure!
