The Boeing Company is seeking Mid-Level Supplier Quality Engineers who are passionate about problem solving, engaging with the production system and doing complex data analysis. Quality Engineers support existing production through process improvement techniques involving defect reduction, verification system design and improvements, and ensures compliance to requirements. Our quality engineers get involved in complex engineering and production challenges and have a critical role in the continuous improvement of our quality management system, products and production system.

Quality Engineers (QE) work to develop, maintain and assess the Boeing Quality Management System (QMS) requirements for the production processes and design. QEs are responsible for verifying our value stream is capable of meeting the engineering requirements and our processes produce quality products. As a QE, you will work closely with other engineering functions, manufacturing and support functions to ensure compliance to our regulators and contractual requirements, while continually improving our products and processes. The Statement of Work includes being a problem-solving leader through analyzing defect data, performing analysis to support production changes, identifying and implementing improvements to quality and production processes and product designs, and leading cross-functional teams on Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA) and defect reduction efforts.

Position Responsibilities

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Understands and applies Quality practices, techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts
  • Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities
  • Performs data analysis to determine engagement strategy at suppliers
  • Provides Quality interpretation of requirements
  • Plans, organizes and conducts audits/assessments of supplier's systems, processes, and products
  • Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs product verification to assess compliance to applicable requirements
  • Provides education and coaching on quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives to develop and improve supplier performance and productivity
  • Reports status of supplier performance
  • Participates in Program and Production Readiness Reviews at suppliers
  • Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances
  • Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances
  • Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
  • Works under general direction


This is a hybrid position that allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes , lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or similar technical area
  • 5+ years of experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing data; summarizing findings; developing conclusions


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 5+ years of experience with regulatory requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • 5+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer (Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer, Software Quality Engineer or Program Quality Engineer)
  • Experience in receiving inspection
  • 5+ years of experience using Lean+ and/or Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) tools and techniques
  • Experience working closely with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment


Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range: $65,520 - $121,680
