Description
This Programmer Analyst role from Robert Half Technology will bring together your understanding of software and applications programming and industry requirements and your desire to create and define systems scope and objectives. Using research and fact-finding, you will recommend developments and modifications for applications or databases. This is a long-term temporary-to-full-time Programmer Analyst role based in Richardson, Texas. Apply today.
Key responsibilities
- Create and evaluate programming changes for each systems development phase prior to implementation. Log test cases and expected results. Verify that results meet requirements. May plan basic tests or a defined subset of larger tests. May suggest acceptance/rejection when requirements are not met
- Assesses and logs issues. Works alongside other programmers to correct problems with code
- Provides ongoing training and assistance for end users and other partner groups for a particular application, system or process
- Analyzes user requests for changes or improvements to systems. Creates documents of functional requirements and reviews cost, feasibility and utility. Suggests how, when and whether to proceed with the changes
- Serves as the in-house guide for internal clients experiencing programming problems, consulting on applications, systems and/or processes for identifying and resolving, processing/reporting the issues. Consultation can include troubleshooting and/or education
- Builds and maintains dictionaries for applications and systems support by the analyst
- Helps develop communication content for particular system changes being implemented in production
- Analyzes processing procedures. Develops recommendations for improvements
Requirements
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Good working understanding of programming languages
- Java experience preferred
- Proven knowledge of Rest Services
- Hibernate ORM experience preferred
- Experience with JUnit
- Solid understanding of Core Java
- Strong familiarity with Java Spring
- Essential project management skills, including project planning and tracking principles; project risk and issues identification, assessment, tracking, and mitigation
- Previous experience as a project leader for the business portion of developmental applications or major systems improvements
- Proficiency in PC and mainframe hardware/software
