What You Will Do:

Responsible for formulating network design options (hardware, software, services) that address customer business and technical objectives and contribute to the Sales team. This group is comprised of a diverse set of engineers with technical know-how and ability to understand customer's business requirements and translate them into state-of-the art telecommunication network solution offers using a variety of automated tools, applications and manual calculations, along with creative designs from the engineers.

• Communicate with Sales to gather requirements and understand customer's technical needs to develop a model and bill of material for an optimized network design, as part of either RFP (request for proposal) or other business opportunities.
• Develop working knowledge of company and strategic partner products and technologies (packet, optical, wireless, software and services)
• Develop and maintain various sales engineering tools and applications (including network drawings, configuration tools, business models, spreadsheets, reference tables, etc.)
• Learn the business of the telecommunications industry, the related technologies and the business outcomes associated with packet-optical, wireless, software and services solutions

Education and Work Requirements:

• REQUIRED: Bachelor's/Master’s degree (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar field preferred)

• MILITARY EXPERIENCE: preferably a Nuke JMO
• Skilled in Excel; knowledge of Visio and web or scripting languages preferred
• Knowledge in networking or telecom technologies preferred, not necessary (hardware, software and services, including general telephony, fixed or mobile wireless/4G/5G, fiber optics, Ethernet/data, OTN, SONET, WDM, Routing/Switching, SDN/MicroApps/Network Management)
