JOB DESCRIPTION

If you are an IT Release Train Engineer (RTE) or Project Manager looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! This role will facilitate the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Agile Release Train processes and program execution for our Digital Experience Tools. The tool suite is an integral part of supporting a superior Customer Digital Experience and sales enablement with a core focus on instrument sizing and selection. This position will have the flexibility of a Hybrid work week and based in one of the following locations: Austin, TX, Eden Prairie, MN, or Boulder, CO.

As an IT Release Train Engineer (RTE) you will:

  • Facilitate ART events and help lead the team through an Agile Transformation by mentoring leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets.
  • Work collaboratively across teams on program execution and drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt methodologies.
  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments. Coordinate System and Solution Demos.
  • Minimize risk by escalating impediments and following applicable Lean Agile Center of Excellence (LACE) procedures and processes.
  • Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment. Ensure open communications within the team and transparency of project status and issues.
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through Agile Release Train (ART).
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks. Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics. Understand and operate within Lean Budgets and ensure adherence to Guardrails.
  • Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process.
  • Integrate the use of Built-In Quality practices to ensure optimal flow of value through value streams.
  • Help drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle. Proactively engage present and future stakeholders in design priority setting and implementation.
  • Periodically assess the agility level of the ART and Solution Train and help them improve.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with 6 years of related experience
  • 4+ years as Scrum Master / Project Manager or 2+ years as Release Train Engineer / Solution Train Engineer with a proven track record of delivering value
  • Thorough understanding of Agile Project Execution, Scaled Agile Framework, project management phases, techniques, and tools
  • Experience working globally in a distributed software team
  • Excellent oral, presentation, and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel including internationally up to 15%
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of Instrumentation and Industrial Automation
  • Previous experience in Digital, Ecommerce, or working with an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company
  • SAFe Certifications (SA/SP, SSM, RTE)
