RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce Inc. is seeking a full-time Lead Puppet Engineer/SME to remotely support our enterprise technology client based in Austin TX. This need is being driven by a desire to migrate from the Enterprise version to Open Source version of the Puppet configuration management tool.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, the Lead Puppet Engineer/SME will serve as project and technical lead to provide technical leadership, project guidance, and business development
Design, architect, and implement system architecture and automation solutions
Implement, maintain within Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery environments
Author and update internal and external documentation
Conduct Governance meetings to share ideas, findings and status
The Lead Puppet Engineer/SME will define and drive end-to-end migration of Puppet Enterprise to Puppet Open Source
Advise business and technology delivery leadership on migration strategy, risk analysis and timeline
Participate in customer's workshops and provide presentations of the proposed solution
Act as a subject matter expert on DevOps best practices with configuration management and deployment tool
Perform analysis best practices and emerging concepts
Acts as a technical liaison between clients, service engineering teams and supports
As a Lead Puppet Engineer/SME, you will be monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of work
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent experience
5 years of experience serving as a Technical project manager in a software application development organization
3 years of experience with working in an Agile delivery environment
Exposure to Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery
Strong knowledge of cloud environments
Strong technical knowledge and experience with Puppet configuration management software
Strong Project Management experience
Expertise in infrastructure automation tools
Prior consulting, advisory, or professional services experience is preferred
Solid technical expertise and troubleshooting skills
Experience leading a technical project team preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
