Agricultural Technician Position

The agricultural technician is a vital role in the research team at Agritech Research, LLC. During the planting and harvest seasons you will travel with a research crew likely consisting of two agronomists and operate the research planter and harvester and oversee in-season maintenance of the equipment. During the the off season, the technician will perform maintenance and improvements on all equipment including tractors, combines, haul trucks, trailers and various implements. You will also retrofit and prepare all new equipment added to the fleet each year. This is a challenging, but very rewarding role which provides the opportunity for professional growth.

Hourly Compensation

Bonuses and Profit Sharing

Starting total compensation between $40,000 - $50,000 depending on experience with annual increases as tenure at the company is gained.

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in ag mechanics, diesel mechanics or similar field of study with the ability to demonstrate and apply that knowledge. Alternatively, sufficient experience and understanding of mechanical systems on heavy equipment.

Preferably have a farming background with experience operating tractors or combines.

Have the ability to travel for 6-9 weeks twice a year for planting and harvest of test plots.

Employees often work 70-hour work weeks during the planting and harvest seasons.

Have proficiency with computer skills including Microsoft Word & Excel.

Have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL license with air brakes.

Be in adequate physical condition to meet the rigors of planting and harvest.

Be honest, responsible, and self-motivated.

Be able to work effectively in a team environment.
