One year of medical billing and coding experience in a medical clinic.
One year of experience with standard medical office equipment.Description of Job DutiesReceives, sorts and distributes mail and incoming communications.
Types and proos correspondence, forms, reports, manuscripts and other materials. Composes routine correspondence and form letters.
Acts as a receptionist; answers the telephone, greets and screens visitors, and schedules appointments.
Reception Counter duties include: student sign-in, confirm eligibility of service and insurance, pull or create medical chart, inform medical staff, annotate electronic health record; answer telephones.
Banner (student information system) usage – confirm student eligibility, data entry. Medical Software – annotate student time in, run doctor appt. schedule, run type of visits report.
Data entry into Banner, into Excel (retired records, medical withdrawals, end of month reports).
Performs complex data entry, coding, deletion and updates. Builds and executes queries and reports. Reconciles duplicate records.
Medical billing to include insurance card scanning, confirmation of insurance and type, verification of coding accuracy.
Receives, sorts and distributes mail and incoming communications.
Collects and compiles data for the department.
Prepares periodic publications and reports.
