Job Description SummaryJob DescriptionIn this role, the Sr. Collection Specialist is responsible for ensuring the prompt payment of the accounts receivable in order to maximize revenue management for BD. Responsible for the overall monitoring of the AR and resolution of escalated collection issues. Monitoring of a $500MM average monthly receivable and over 5,000 accounts, with a significant level of customer facing activities.Primary Duties/Responsibilities:To monitor the collection activity to ensure complex issues are resolved/escalated so that collection is made on all outstanding receivable issues

The ability to resolve complex collections escalations independently and handle the most sensitive issues with internal and external customers

Accountable for the achievement of key strategic goals and carrying out business/operating plans

Interact with external customers, business controllers, distributor relations, sales force, customer service and related transactional groups in order to accomplish the tasks

Responsible for continuous improvement activities by developing and implementing efficiencies within the department that will add value to the process. Participate and facilitate lean initiatives

QualificationsRequired:2+ years in commercial collections

Strong analytical/problem solving skills

Solid Communication and interpersonal skills

Superior customer service skills

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

High School Degree or equivalent

Must have the ability to work independently and in a team environment, multitask, set own priorities, and adapt to a changing environment.

Preferred:Direct experience with SAP

Strong Microsoft excel skills

Experience working in a shared service center

Bachelor's Degree in Finance / Accounting / Economics
