The Senior Director of Data Analytics will be a leader in the OptumCare Clinical Performance Quality team. This leader will be responsible for the clinical performance data for OptumCare members across all lines of business and across our Care Delivery Organizations (CDOs) as we manage performance in order to attain and maintain 4+ Star ratings for those that we serve.You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:

Strong relationships leader responsible for working closely with key partners, including leadership across CDOs and UHC Health Plans to prioritize and work towards goal

Leadership and accountability for the performance and direction of a team of data analysts and managers

Development and execution of strategies to ensure the acquisition, manipulation and analysis of multiple data streams/formats from various partners/sources

Management and manipulation of mostly structured data, with a focus on building business intelligence tools, conducting analysis, performing normalization operations and assuring data quality.

Development of data solutions to support analyses, performing analysis, interpreting results, developing actionable insights and presenting recommendations for use

Partnership with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop and enhance tools and models such as segmentation, dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids and business case analysis to support the organization

Production and management of activity and value analytics to internal and external stakeholders

Leadership in building solutions using business intelligence, data visualization, query, analytic and statistical software with which analysis can be performed

Responsibility for Glide Paths, KPIs, and clinical measurement reporting

Undergraduate degree in technology / computer science related field

5+ years of clinical data management - must be in leadership role

Experience programming with JavaScript or another scripting language

Professional experience facilitating and operational solution design, architecture & delivery planning activities across geographically diverse and multi-disciplinary teams

Extensive knowledge of SQL and clinical data analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree in a technology / computer science related field

HEDIS/Stars experience

Medicare experience

Big Data experience

Healthcare industry experience

Ability to troubleshoot problems by research

Ability to mentor team members assist in their technical growth

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, quickly changing environment

Demonstrates excellent organizational, written and oral communication skills

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Strong communication skills including explaining complex concepts, negotiation and persuasion, conflict resolution, and presenting to executive levels management

Prior experience demonstrating strong time management and organizational skills, with proven ability to prioritize and balance multiple accountabilities

Strong leadership skills
